M Performance Limited Slip Differential

Genuine BMW M Performance Limited Slip Differential.
The mechanical Limited Slip Differential provides the extra performance advantage that true performance drivers desire. This differential utilizes 3 clutch plates for a total of 30% lockup on acceleration and 9% lockup on deceleration. This lockup provides instant power to the wheel that has the greatest amount of grip to gain better traction out of tight corners. An additional benefit in low-grip situations is that both wheels get equal power, meaning more forward driving force on roads with reduced traction.

Soft closing door

Effortless and quiet: soft close automatic ensures that the doors of your BMW are securely closed with a minimum of exertion and without unpleasant noise.

In tight parking spaces or whenever a gentle closing of the door is appreciated, soft close automatic provides a helping hand: simply push the door until it is almost closed. When the door is within approximately 6 mm of the lock, a sensor activates an electric motor that pulls the door firmly and quietly closed and secures it. The components of the door locks are automatically returned to their original position.
The door can be opened again at any time. The soft close automatic process is also run whenever the door is manually closed, to ensure the door is properly shut.

Surround View Camera system

Enjoy the view: The integrated camera systems offer better visibility, for example at junctions and in difficult traffic situations.

Surround View provides support when parking and manoeuvring in tight situations. To this end, the area to the side of the car and behind it are shown in the Control Display from a bird's-eye perspective (360° Top View).

Side View is also included, providing support in areas where there is poor visibility (e.g. exits, blind junctions). Two digital cameras to the front left and right of the automobile capture the situation at the side and relay it to the Control Display. This enables early detection of cross-traffic, resulting in the appropriate reaction.

With the rear view camera you have the area behind the car in view on the Control Display while manoeuvring and parking. The Rear View camera enhances visibility when reversing at speeds below 20 km/h, for example when parking. Interactive track lines indicate to you whether the chosen parking space is big enough for the car and support you during parking by showing areas marked in colour on the Control Display. In conjunction with the tow hitch, the reverse view camera has a practical zoom function which makes the approach easier when hooking up a trailer.

It is possible to choose between the three options Rear View Camera, Surround View and Side View and to activate one of them. The selected view then appears in the Control Display.

Head Up Display

For cars without Head Up Display.

Don’t lose sight of the important things. The BMW Head-Up Display projects relevant driving information directly into the driver’s line of sight. This allows him to process it up to 50% faster and keep his attention where it belongs – on the road.

BMW vehicles with BMW Head-Up Display can be recognised by a small square depression on the dashboard. This contains a projector and a system of mirrors that beams an easy-to-read, high-contrast image onto a translucent film on the windscreen, directly in your line of sight.

The image is projected in such a way that it appears to be about two metres away, above the tip of the bonnet, making it particularly comfortable to read. BMW Head-Up Display halves the time it takes for eyes to shift focus from road to the instruments and back. The system’s height can be adjusted for optimal viewing.

The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display in many newer BMW models makes the car even more comfortable for the driver. More colours means it’s easier to differentiate between general driving information like speed limits and navigation directions and urgent warning signals. Important information like ‘Pedestrian in the road’ (in conjunction with the optional BMW Night Vision) is now even more clear and recognisable – and this subsequently reduces the driver’s reaction time. The BMW Head-Up Display can easily be adjusted horizontally or vertically, via the iDrive, for optimal viewing. This increased picture rotation means the BMW Head-Up Display is individually adjustable. All in all, it enables you to register information much faster, without having to take your eyes off the road.

In addition to the speed, which is displayed permanently, the BMW Head-Up Display can also show other content depending on model and equipment. Examples include: rpm (in BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M this is multi-coloured), navigation instructions like the Guiding information with intersection zoom function and Lane Guiding, Speed Limit Info and the status of the Active Cruise Control. Driver Assistant warnings and the Check Control are also displayed in the BMW Head-Up Display, e.g. pedestrian recognition from BMW Night Vision or the Collision Warning.

BANG&OLUFSEN HIGH-END Sound System

This is a retrofit kit for cars without Bang & Olufsen high-end sound system.

The Bang & Olufsen high-end Surround Sound system for the BMW 5 Series is the result of months of sound tuning and decades of experience by Bang & Olufsen’s acoustic engineers working in close partnership with BMW engineers. Out of this partnership has come a system with a sound performance normally reserved for the high-end stereo in your living room.

The system’s most impressive features are its neutral tonal balance, authentic sound staging and imaging, and distortion-free reproduction, which translate into an enjoyable listening experience that will leave you wanting to hear more – even after hours of travel.
Sound tuning for each of the four different variants, Limousine,Touring and Gran Turismo, as well as the long-wheelbase Limousine, only available in China, was undertaken by Bang & Olufsen sound engineers to ensure that the unique contours of each variant’s interior were taken into consideration – the result
is optimal sound performance across all variants.

With 16 active loudspeakers driven by 1,200 watts of power, the Bang & Olufsen high-end Surround Sound system for BMW 5 Series vehicles delivers a rich and authentic sound. Each of the seven tweeters is paired with a mid-range loudspeaker to deliver a highly balanced sound experience, and two potent subwoofers located under the front seats ensure a powerful bass sound throughout the vehicle. These subwoofers are mounted directly onto a rigid area of the car’s body, thus eliminating vibrations and creating a very clean sound at all volume levels.

ALPINE HiFi Sound System

This is a retrofit kit for cars without ALPINE sound system.

The ALPINE HiFi system significantly improves audio performance with its natural sound quality. All components of the 320 W three-way loudspeaker system were developed exclusively for BMW and are specially adapted for the acoustics of the vehicle.

Park Distance Control (PDC)

With Park Distance Control, entering or leaving the tightest parking space becomes much easier. An acoustic warning signal lets you know how close you are to the car or object behind you.

Ultrasound sensors integrated into the bumper at the rear of your vehicle measure the distance to the nearest large object behind the vehicle. As you reverse closer, the frequency of the warning tone increases. When you're just 30 cm from the car or other obstacle, an unbroken warning tone sounds, as a signal to brake.
Depending on the model and equipment of your vehicle, the acoustic signal is accompanied by a visual representation on the control display, so you can both see and hear where obstacles are each time you enter or leave a parking space.

BMW M Performance braking system

Brembo high-performance 4-piston aluminum fixed caliper on the front axle and 2-piston aluminum fixed caliper on the rear axle.
Improved thermal resistance thanks to larger, internally-ventilated, lightweight-construction sports brake discs.
Drilled (dimpled) and grooved brake discs also reduce water film build-up between the brake lining and the disc surface.
Available in M Performance Red, Yellow or Orange – all with an M logo on the outside of the caliper. Drilled and grooved, internally-ventilated lightweight brake disks with riveted aluminum hat measuring 370 x 30 mm (diameter x thickness) on the front axle and 345 x 24 mm on the rear axle.

The BMW M Performance sports brake system is only approved in combination with at least 18" aluminum wheels.

Laser light system

This is a retrofit kit for cars without Laserlight package.

BMW Laserlight is a highly efficient lighting technology with a high-beam range double that of headlights containing conventional technology.
In the laser headlight, the beams of light are bundled together to attain a luminous intensity that is ten times greater than conventional light sources such as halogen, xenon or LED. BMW Laserlight has a visual range of up to 600 metres, twice that of a headlight with conventional light technology.
BMW Laserlight surpasses energy efficiency compared with already highly effective LED light technology by a further 30 percent, thereby providing considerably greater light intensity and a marked reduction in electricity consumption.

BMW Laserlight takes the coherent and monochromatic blue laser beams and transforms them into harmless white light. This is done by using special lenses to direct the beams emitted by three high-performance laser diodes onto a fluorescent phosphorous substance inside the laser light source. This fluorescent substance converts the beams into a white light, still with a very high intensity, which the human eye finds particularly pleasant due to its close similarity to daylight. Following conversion of the laser beams, the harmless, dispersed light is projected forward by the headlight unit.

The laser headlight is also equipped with automatic headlight range control to keep the beam of light at a pre-set level, no matter whether the vehicle is driving uphill or downhill, whether it is fully laden or whether the driver is the sole occupant.

All these characteristics make BMW Laserlight the ideal high-beam light source for automobiles. It combines high light intensity with optimal energy efficiency and extra-small dimensions. The outstanding illumination range of the BMW Laserlight facilitates even better visibility and enhanced foresight when driving in the dark. The result is a relaxed and comfortable ride and increased safety on the road.

M Performance Carbon Fiber Front Splitters (M3/M4)

This BMW Performance front splitter in Carbon Fibre can be added to the F80 M3 and F82 M4 front bumper for a much more aggressive appearance. The splitter mounts over the existing outer cooling ducts and is used to direct air either into the air duct or to the air curtains. The optional lower horizontal splitter makes the front end even more aggressive. Together, the M Performance Splitters have a dynamic and pronounced visual impact to the M3 / M4 bumper. This is the factory BMW M Performance part.

Akrapovic Exhaust system for BMW (M3/M4)

The Evolution performance exhaust system for the BMW consists of a single-central muffler with valves and bigger link pipe tubes with a middle muffler, all designed to make the performance and workmanship of the Evolution as perfect as its looks. With no second set of cats—(unlike the stock system), the whole system is designed to give the smoothest flow—and the power and torque gains of the BMW with the Evolution system are simply amazing. Crafted entirely from titanium, the Evolution system has a unique sound to complement its substantial increase over a very wide rpm range. In-depth engineering has produced a sound completely different from the stock system, giving a deep and sporty sound – with no unwanted overtones or drone, and also a significant change to the sound with the valves in the open or closed positions. The Evolution system needs no re-programming of the ECU because it doesn’t trigger any warning lights. With tailpipes in titanium or carbon, and a handcrafted rear diffuser, all available as optional extras, the BMW Evolution is as beautiful as it is powerful.
